HOUSTON, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Idera, a leading provider of management, administration, security and compliance solutions for Microsoft SQL Server, today announced the release of version 1.1 of its SQL change manager product. SQL change manager enables database administrators to rapidly roll out changes to multiple databases, effectively implement version control, roll-back erroneous changes, monitor and report changes to ensure compliance and recover lost or damaged database objects.
SQL change manager provides a central point of control for SQL Server database change management across the enterprise. Its management console, innovative change management automaton engine and central repository of change history ensure that change is managed effectively, efficiently and accurately. The results are a significant decrease in the level of effort required to deploy and manage database changes, a reduction in operational risk, and an increase in the performance and availability of production SQL Servers.
"As SQL Server has gained traction in the enterprise, managing change to databases underlying critical applications has become an onerous and time consuming task," said Rick Pleczko, President and CEO, Idera. "SQL change manager provides the next generation solution that SQL Server database administrators need to ensure that change is managed effectively with minimal effort."
Key Features and Benefits of SQL change manager:
Innovative Change Management Automation Engine -- Automates the change management process by creating "management plans" that run on a regularly scheduled basis. These plans enable Database Administrators to monitor database objects for change and compliance, capture and store database schemas for version control and roll-out changes to multiple of databases in parallel across the enterprise.
Comprehensive Database Version Tracking -- Keeps a complete history of databases over time, documents changes, and allows database administrators to view historical snapshots of databases as they looked, hours, days, months or even years ago. This provides a valuable audit trail for forensic analysis.
Powerful Object Recovery and Repair -- Recovers lost or repairs damaged database objects (e.g. a deleted or incorrectly updated stored procedure) from previous versions stored in the SQL change manager central repository.
Powerful Comparison & Synchronization Engine -- Compares and synchronizes a database to another database or a historical snapshot stored in SQL change manager's central repository. Rapidly roll-out, roll-back and roll-forward schemas and database objects. Select certain objects to be compared, exclude objects, and view/edit synchronization scripts.
Task Wizards -- Enable database administrators to quickly perform key change management activities such as Server Registration, Database Schema Capture, Database Roll-out, Change & Compliance Monitoring, Object Recovery and Comparison & Synchronization.
Pricing and Availability:
SQL change manager will be available within the next 30 days and is simply priced at US $995 per SQL Server instance. For more information please visit: http://www.idera.com/products/sqlchange
